Tuning In…

Does it have to be Christian music that God speaks to you through?  Can it be some random song that you’ve added to your playlist just because you’ve listened to it a thousand times over just because you’ve always loved it or rocked out to it before?

A few months ago, I made a playlist called “Finding Myself” in attempt to help myself find that part of me that I lost in the dark.  I know that I’ve been through different shades of darkness for a very long time in my life, if not most of it, with hints of lightness showing through…and those hints of lightness have almost always come through some sort of song.  It was the way that song made me feel or think, the way it gave me a moment of inspiration or guidance, or just something that I couldn’t quite put my finger on.

But somewhere along the way, I lost myself…and I desperately have been searching to find me.  So I put together a playlist of various songs that I used to love from my youth until the point I know when darkness completely took over.

Now, due to a drastic change in my life and an incredible experience in my life, I believe God has opened my eyes, my heart, and most importantly…since I am a music driven child of God, my ears, to hear what He is trying to tell me, and these songs in this specific playlist, randomly selected, are the inspiration on my rockin’ walk toward strengthening my faith.

and we will play my music
    on stringed instruments
all the days of our lives,

    Keep walking…keep rocking!

  2. Cool blog…

Music has been a huge part of my life. I always thought that my taste in music would never change, that I would always be into rock. But as I grew older, I started to appreciate many different styles, seeing the beauty in music in general. I also acquired a love for gospel and Christian contemporary music, which opened up a whole new world for me.

keep blogging, and I will be reading.

  3. Hi Beth
Sorry you and Shelly couldn’t make it tonight to OCG. We had several of the folks come tonight. I hope Shelly is feeling better. I am impressed with your blog and your honesty. Hope to see you soon.
